DISTILLED’S “Backcountry & Bourbon” returns for its 5th season at Warren Station in Keystone. This Spirits and Speaker Series continues to grow and evolve and on January 14th hosts lifelong friends willing to tell their story of one of the most impactful days of their lives. Come to Warren Station and listen and learn about a thrilling story of survival in an East Vail avalanche featuring firsthand accounts from the four Ski Patrollers involved in this harrowing experience.
Hear the tale of five friends who venture out together for some routine laps through the backcountry near Vail. All trained Level Two Avalanche experts, dog handlers, and avalanche techs had high confidence in what was sure to be an epic day with longtime friends in the East Vail chutes. Learn about group dynamics and decision-making when venturing out into avalanche territory and that events can always go awry no matter your level of training and discipline. Join in the Q&A and hear how although you prepare and set out with the best-laid plans, that mother nature may have plans of her own.
Following the presentation, whiskey ambassador Jason Levinson brings the bourbon to Backcountry and Bourbon. He will lead you in tasting a TINCUP American Whiskey trio. Explore the delicate balance of backcountry safety along with the history, aging process, and recipes of these well-respected bourbons.
Tickets include samples of all the whiskeys and a raffle ticket. There will be swag giveaways and plenty of other drink specials at the bar. Come out for a night of spirited education and help us kick off Distilled at Warren Station on Saturday, January 14th.
